In this video, Dr. Berg answers the question about the units of certain nutrients. In fat soluble vitamins, they use something called IU’s or International Units, which is the potency or concentration of something. You don’t really need to be alarmed if you see large amounts of IU’s. Take vitamin D with vitamin K2 which works with D3 to help mobilize calcium and keeping it from going in the wrong place. Hypercalcemia is not very common and it is too much calcium in the blood.

Symptoms of Hypercalcemia
• High blood pressure
• Dehydration
• Decrease appetite
• Irritability
• Fatigue
• Weak

25 gedachten over “How Much Vitamin D3 Should I Take? Is 10,000 IUs of Vitamin D3 Toxic? – Dr.Berg

  1. The safe upper limit for Vitamin D3, established by most reputable scientists and physicians, is 4,000 IU per day, so I’m not sure why you’re recommending 10,000 IU. Why risk toxicity? If someone is deficient, I could see taking 10,000 IU daily, initially to get levels up to normal, but I wouldn’t recommend it as a long-term thing. And yes, taking the correct dose of Vitamin K2 is also very important, but you haven’t always mentioned this in previous videos.

  2. I just received my first bottle of your VITAMIN D3 and k2

  3. I have been taking 20,000 a day for six months. Some time missing two day so start again they bone pain .what you recommended me everyday I have taken the 40,000is not said effective .

  4. can i take 5 pills of vitamin d3 per day?

  5. Yoy made a mistake , 1K IU of vit D = 25 mg , and 10k – 250 mg

  6. I am on warfarin so I cannot take “K” vitamins so what do you suggest?

  7. My doctor goes by the basic Vit D level requirements. While taking 5000 IUs daily last year I got my levels up to 79. Then this past year I upped it to 10,000 IUs daily and my levels went up to >120. My doc flipped out and said I was at high toxicity and must cut way back immediately which I have done down to 1000 IUs daily. It seems 5000 should be about right for me so I wonder when I can go back to that amount? My doctor also thinks cholesterol is the main indicator of heart issues. Since going Keto mine is up from 190 to 248 but my triglycerides are down and HDL is up and he tells me to get off the keto. He also thinks the vaccines and Remdesivir are great. I am now looking for a new doctor.

  8. I’m taking 20,000 a day with K2 and i feel great and my back pain is gone

  9. Is 40,000 IUs in any way toxic?

  10. Fantastic breakdown. Thanks.

  11. The average adult should take no more than 4,000 international units of vitamin D daily.Kelly Burch and Kailey Proctor Oct 8, 2021, 11:16 AMThere is so much of conflicting info, it leaves one more confused.

  12. How about interacrions with other vitamines, minerals and medicine? How about SSRI with lots of D ?? I know your not a medicine doctor but maby you know something about that? The ordinary “house doc” dont know anything about vitamines. They prefer big pharm stuff.

  13. I have vitamin d3 1000 IU. In order to take 10,000 iu, do I have to take ten pills then? The label says 1 pill a day after a meal. Or are there pill come at 10,000 iu?

  14. Dr. Berg my sister taking 50,000 IU of vitamin D every week but still her vitamin D did not increase from last three years and her doctor never recommend me to take any other vitamin with that still her bones density is low as well as also diagnosed with osteopenia but I did watch your video it did help me but still I need the answer from you what other Vitamins should take with that and She also developed a ringing in ear and I googled it they said if you take too much of vitamin D it does make some kind of a ringing in the ear and I’m worried right now please help me and let me know what I should do????

  15. No kidding. Taking 1mg of D3/day sounds less 'scary'. I wish IU would become obsolete.

  16. I had major chronic fatigue , no doctor mentioned D3. Ironically, I learned about it on a podcast years ago.. but did more research and started to supplement and started to feel better.. I had to tell my doctor to order a D3 blood serum test( about 2 weeks in for me supplementing and probably no more than 2,000 Iu's per day at that) and it did show that I was in fact Deficient. She only said “Ok you can supplement with 1, 000 IU's a day. Well I was reading about how to titrate up to lift your levels at various deficiency levels… and those with SEVERE D3 deficiency that is when they get those HUGE 50,000 IU's for a week sort of things.. and then they titrate down.

  17. Can my one year old take 10000

  18. Don't you also have to take magnesium if taking Vit D??

  19. I recently had a blood test to check my Vit D level as I was convinced that it was going to be low as I have severe osteoarthritis in most of my joints but to my surprise it came back as 79 nmol/lt which is a good level….so why all this pain? Also my Calcium level came back normal…so why is my Bone Density Test reading early Osteopaenia…..is it maybe that I'm not converting the D3 and Calcium is not going to the bones …..is there a test to find this out.?? ..I have recently started taking the K2 100mcg with 4,000 iu of D3 hoping this is going to help , I would like to take more D3 but with my level at 79 I'm a bit hesitant to do so. Anyone else have good D3 levels and still suffering?

  20. The bumpy margin singly milk because month revealingly stuff an a gabby scissors. unbiased, shallow celeste

  21. You know what’s funny? I’m a Registered Dietitian and although it’s been 20+ years since I graduated I remember being taught that excess Vitamin D intake was very dangerous!!! Now I take 10,000 i.u.’s a day!

  22. You point out that 10000 IU of D3 is about 0.25 milligrams but you don't say how many milligrams would be dangeropus or toxic so I don't see how this video helps? Just checked and the UK NHS advises not to take more than 4000 iu per day (100 micrograms) as this could be dangerous – so someone is wrong here.

  23. I am glad I found these videos. They are very helpful.

  24. Hello Doc.Please make video about SHILAJIT 50% FULVIC ACID.thank you.

  25. I had a prescription for 1mg of Vit D2 and my doctor had figured it to be 50,000 iu =1mg. Dr Berg is aying 40,000iu = 1mg (?)
