  1. Great video! I live in canada and cant get fogo locally, its 38$ plus shipping online. So i buy Maple Leaf lump and its been great only 18$ for large bag

  2. This is a Great Video! I did a Comparison Video of FOGO versus Kamado Joe Charcoal – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6oLRYiMB6Qw

  3. Nothing like dropping $150 on charcoal :)Nice video. Good to see the difference. Of the charcoal you have I've only used royal oak and I'm not impressed. It all appears to be mill waste and burns very inconsistent. I've found making my own is the best.

  4. Fogo included the packaging to net weight?

  5. What’d you think was the best value? Is the expensive stuff really worth it? Have you tried mixing as some viewers mentioned? Seems like you could reduce costs a bit that way.

  6. Thanks for the video! Very helpful.

  7. Fogo comes from fallen trees in the rain forests of Central and South America. Not oak. The smoke is like no other charcoal.

  8. Very nice comparison, and I like the way you store your lump coals too (I typically just leave them in the bag in my garage – messy). Thanks

  9. Royal oak makes BGE charcoal. The absolute best charcoal money can buy is ROCKWOOD. Smoke neutral lights easy and has little ash production. Atlanta grill company sells it for $20 a bag if you get them in 2 packs.

  10. For the price you can't beat 9$ bags of royal oak. Even if you ditch the bottom of the bag thats little crumbs you still win. Plus made in the USA

  11. One thing you are not noticing but if you hear the high pitch pinging from the Black Diamond that means it's purely carbonized that's why it's superior compared to the other brands. It burns the most pure that's why it needs less and weighs less

  12. Looks like Fogo and Kamado Joe have the nicest pieces . The Royal Oak, looked much better, than the BGE.

  13. Hey brother, i’m really enjoying your video.

  14. I wish Naked Wiz had a YouTube channel like this. Excellent information here. I would imagine by this time everyone has heard of Naked Wiz? Check it out, it has useful databases & reviews of all things lump charcoal. http://www.nakedwhiz.com/lumpindexpage.htm?bag

  15. I worked at the Royal Oak plant in Ellisinore and Royal Oak and Big Green Egg are the same stuff.we bagged them side by side out of the same hoppers.the amount of railroad tie metal we pulled of the conveyer belts feeding the hoppers was scary.

  16. Looks like the Green egg and the other don't compare to the FOGO.

  17. Interesting comparison video. Food for thought, though. The big green egg is made by royal oak. As far as I know, it’s the same exact thing but, just like anything big green egg, much more expensive for no reason but the name.

  18. Great video! I like using royal oak and kingsford original brockets.

  19. The Kamado Joe charcoal you spoke of is like the Fogo. You can cook more with 20lbs of Fogo/Kamado than 35 or 40 lbs of the lighter less dense domestic style product. Notice when you rattle the KJ lump after pouring it out that it has a more metalic sound. That is how lump produced from iron wood sounds. Also the 20 pound box of KJ is smaller than the 17lb bag of RO. The denser premium wood from KJ and Fogo are far superior at low and slow cooking. Make fire—-cook meat

  20. Royal Oak makes Big Green Eggs lump charcoal

  21. Thanks for the in depth review. I will be trying all three if possible.

  22. My dad has green egg and he likes green egg charcoal

  23. My dad has green egg and he likes green egg charcoal

  24. My uncle Sanders from another grandmother AND you're using FOGO! AND you sound like you're from Alabama like my family (we're in Texas mostly nowadays). Subbed!

  25. thank you sr. john for the video .

  26. Big block is the much harder wood, the best of what you next to fogo

  27. Big green egg is royal oak rebagged. Fogo and KJ Bigblock are professional premium ironwood lumps.
